I'm looking for a list of cameras which support 10-bit output uncompressed and could'nt find a proper list, so if you guys and add in the list of various cameras and their bit rate it would be great and helpful for others.
So far I the Canon XF-100 is the only cheapest camera which supports 4:2:2 but its codec based MXF file compression. Not sure if it outputs 10bit or 8bit, but surely 8-bit recording to CF card. Also the Canon T2i and 5D mark2 outputs 4:2:0 8-bit uncompressed HDMI but they still have problems of not having a clean HDMI signal. Another thing is does anyone know whether the HDMI signal can time code signals, coz as far as i have read, that HDMI does not carry time code only SDI. IF thats the case how can devices like Atomos ninja and Hyperdeck Shuttle carry time code through HDMI to record.? Correct me if im wrong, but do they? This post is to help myself and others to decide whether an SDI out on a camera is worth the extra $1000 in case of models like the CANON XF100 and XF105. Some Cameras Like AF-100 also outputs uncompressed 8-bit SDI output..So Please everyone give me your input.....
