To emulate a softbox light, just put a big diffusion panel (the bigger, the softer it will be) and just blast it with Fresnels or some open face lights. Depending on the situation you may need as much as 2000 watts of power.I am using Ice Light and soft box with cfl bulb for interviews, but need a stronger light for wider shots. Which light should I buy/borrow? Thanks.
Might be overkill. I've been lighting for the a7s with the lanterns of deep-sea anglerfish. I use little glowing shrimps for fill.Just buy a few candles and shoot on the a7s.

This is such an open ended question. What is your budget or what do you have access to borrow? Can you describe your interview setups. Do your shoots involve daylight and windows or are they very controlled studio settings? Is portability important to you (ie do you fly with gear or work out of a trunk or are you studio based)?
