sorry this may not be the right topic for this, but I want to know what cost this

why is it some time the lighting changed when subject move or changed position......

Here is an example...... I was shooting a few scene with my son putting his backpack on..and as soon as he put the backpack on his shoulder, the whole image turn brighter..

I change the light position, I added more lights, even changed the backpack... but the imagine still doing the same thing

can anyone tell how to prevent this from happening

Was this in full manual mode in Creative Motion Picture mode, or one of the automated modes (where indeed anything can happen)? Also, depending on other settings, the metering mode could make a difference. For instance, if you had spot metering on, and you were not in full manual mode, then as soon as anything changed at the exact centre of the picture, the metering and therefore the exposure settings would change, if not locked.

It should not change in full manual mode (unless you zoom).

For all other modes a change in the scene results in different metering.

it was in A mode with auto focus.....

my other question is ...are you guys alway shoot in Manual mode

If you are using the GH1 with the large knob on the right set to "A" then you are in total point and shoot mode. You are not in aperture priority mode with that setting unless shooting still pictures.

I'm not sure whether that's what you mean. If you were in Creative Motion Picture Mode, with A as the sub-mode, then the shutter speed is being set by the GH1 and possibly the ISO too, if you had that set to auto.

Do read through the short guide at http://www.hotrodcameras.com/2009/09/07/quickstart-gh1/ for the way to use the GH1 with manual settings.

Edit - Personally I do sometimes use the GH1 in full auto but only if I know that "point and shoot" is good enough on that occasion. But I would then expect to see the result of the camera changing its settings itself.

I haven't filmed a frame in auto, always at full manual in Creative Movie Mode.

If you use it in a auto mode I guess you can 'freeze' exposure with the AF/AE button, how it behaves can be set in the menus. Check the manual.

I just figure out what I was shooting in A A mode.... I wasn't shooting on creative Movie mode with A mode as a sub mode......thanks ..... I think I might know how this camera work in movie mode
