hey everyone, I wrote and directed this short film for the 24 hour mad film dash at the university of california, irvine - where I'm a film major. teams of students competing in the competition are given 24 hours to make a film, from concept to production. as part of the competition each team is given a competition packet, randomly assigning them three genre of film of which they can pick one. accompanying the three genres is an artifact, that is, an item that must be an important part of the film.

screenplay: sean finnegan
directing: david liu and sean finnegan
photography: david liu
editing: david liu
proudly featuring: greg kikkawa, keri lee, david liu, sean finnegan, lan doan
three genres assigned to our team
1. action/adventure
2. foreign or silent film
3. mockumentary (we chose this one)
the mad film dash competition received 74 films, and of those 74 the top 25 are premiered at the festival in no particular order. life note debuted in the top 25 and was awarded the best acting award. I wanted to share it all with you since this forum has provided me with a wealth of information about filmmaking, and I feel like I can get some honest criticism and commentary about it here. so of course, comments and criticism appreciated and encouraged - but remember we did make this entire thing in 24 hours, from the writing to the final product.
