Letus35adapteR

The guy who makes these is named Quyen and he's been working hard to perfect this as much as possible. It may not look as fancy as the M2 but it gets the job done. I bought one of the first ones produced and saw that Quyen had done something nice for the money. He even offered to upgrade the achromat for free which gave me an even cleaner image. Awesome customer service and a nice guy.
I highly recommend it for the dough.

Hi guys, just an update recieved my letus35a from quyen, it was quick delivery especially since i am in the UK! I ordered the bigger gg and a better achromat.

Will keep you all posted when i've tested it!

One more question...
What about Rod support. This thing looks pretty long and heavy.
You screw it in and add a matte box. We're talking "crack the plastic".
Any thoughts?

Small Magnets placed at the camera hinge of the display or turn flip your monitor.
Or shoot upside down.....

most images at that size will look quite nice. larger image would definately help to see quality of pic.

Hey, this is Ben from Frozen Phoenix Productions. Yes, we shot the One Headlight music video with the Letus35. It had a few modifications to it during that shoot, however, and the one shot going from the headlight and into the car was actually shot with a different homemade static adapter. There was no grain on that shot because with enough light, a static adapter will completely lose all grain (and it was very sunny out that day). We used it because at that time the ground glass had fallen out of the Letus.

I've dealt with Quyen Le many times and can say he's extremely helpful and quick to respond to any of your problems. This is my setup now:

Having a rod support system helps out a lot when pulling focus.

One last thing, that nobody's really noticed yet: towards the end of the video, when the girl realizes what's going on, we take off the adapter and shoot clean with the GL2 (yes, sorry, I don't own a dvx...yet) because we wanted her world to become "clear" to her; that is, nothing is blurry or out of comprehension.

Cheers!
