Letus Extreme rig photos

For what it's worth, the Z riser type setup is not a good option for adapter use...particularly if you plan on using cinema lenses, a mattebox and filters. The rig will be intolerably front heavy. We've been outfitting rails for our users for quite some time now, and the balance issue was the number one complaint with our earlier setups. Flexibility is everything, particularly with all the the cameras being used with adapters these days...and the last thing you need is to be struggling with balance when racking focus etc.

I agree. MY rails made my camera far too high...i cut down the risers so now I have this...

The problem is the Mattebox... I really want to use it. Maybe when i go handheld the hight will be a issue. Cavision handles and shoulder pad is on the way.

which mattebox is that? It looks like it can go quite low to the rails, or do most do this?

I use my matte box all the time on the big camera with zoom lens. But when i am knocking stuff off quickly and constantly changing lenses like I was with this short. I don't have enough hands or space in the bag. With more time and an assistant of course a matte box would have been lovely. I have been impressed with the post options in Magic bullet looks. Makes it not so bad not using one sometimes!

I have the DFT 55mm witch war bought by Tiffen recently. It has it all.

im just wondering what are my options

I own the cinevate rails, indifocus FF, letus extreme and canon XH A1. I want to under sling my rig so that i don't have to have it 10 feet in the air, and i think it requires a double rail system. Anyone have any options for me?

There must be something that i can add to my cinevate rails, that will give me the Z formation that i require to under sling my adapter?

Instead of rising the camera high up so that the one system rail setup works, i could keep the camera at the base plate level, and then have another pair or rails connected to the end that would be able to hold a mattebox.

basically, i want the same setup as that picture, however the letus is under slung, so the riser would be a .. lower'er lol.
And would it work with my already existing cinevate rails?

It should work so long as your cinevate rails are 15mm which I know they are.
I'd also have to suggest replacing those Cinevate rails with Dennis's new solid Carbon Fibre rails. I want someone to get a set and check them out. They look impressive.

Z-Riser can do underslung or overslung.

What you want is the way I connected my Extreme with the Z-riser of Zacuto. See the picture below (posted a couple of pages ago).

Pesie, that is a very nice setup, and im going for something similar.
things i would want different:

1) re orient the center of balance so that the base plate is more in between the letus and the camera lens
2) does the distance between the 35mm lens and the second set of rails allow for a mattebox?
Otherwise looks great.

the only problem with that is i JUSt spent 200 on those rails. it would be a shame to have to buy a whole new set again.
