Letus Extreme for XHA1

I'm thinking about purchasing a Letus Extreme for my XHA1, and I was browsing around their website just checking out the different setups, and I was wondering what a basic setup for a letus extreme would be for the XHA1.

Obviously I'd get the 72mm threadmount, and the lenses I have are EOS, so I'd get the EF mount, then there's the matter of the rod support system. Are there cheaper 3rd party alternatives? Do I need an achromat? I have a DIY adapter that I made for my hv20, and it doesn't work on my A1 because it can't zoom/focus close enough to work with the focusing screen.

Any tips or even describing your setup would be great. Thanks.

The achromat is built into the Letus, you cannot get one without it, and it wouldn't work without one anyway.

There are cheaper rail alternative out there, but it's well worth it to get the best (Zacuto or Letus) because of several reasons:

1) Full range of X-Y adjustment that's relatively tool-less. This translates into faster setup time.
2) A lowered center of gravity using a riser that allows you to lower your whole camera rig into a more compact and stable form.
3) High quality construction ensuring that the thing won't fall apart. I've used several "budget" rod systems and without exception they're all poorly put together, with screws that come loose, requiring endless tweaking on sets.
