Lets talk Timelapse

ppl I did what I said i would do, i simply put the camera where i wanted it and hit record, it was only about 40 mins long, so it wasn't too bad

The problem i personally faced with the stills timelapse,

a) having to connect your laptop to the camera, or buying a device

b) the flickering one gets from the still pictures

Also when i shot in video I felt i could get the motion clouds much smoother then when doing intervals, I know that you have more control over the frame, but I got exactly what i want, a 10 second timelapse

Yeah, that'll cause flicker. If you make sure all settings are on manual you'll have no problems. Shooting stills rather than video will give you vastly superior results.

There's an application that'll deflicker your footage, I forget the name however.

I would argue for shooting stills. The quality is just miles beyond what the video mode gives you. And if you're finishing in HD, you have the ability to push in on the shot, reframe, etc. and still have the quality.

Anyone have suggestions on how I might go about reframing footage in the timelapse? I'd like to animate a panning sequence from inside my timelapse. Hopefully something could be done with Quicktime or FCP?

There's 18 MP on my 7D, and I only need 2MP for HD resolution. Anyway to make a 2MP "window" move around on the finished sequence?

I use After Effects, but I'm pretty sure you could use the 'move' tools within FCP.
