Ok so excited got the hv40, now gonna grab the juicedlink soon.........im confused about raynox vs wd-h43 wide angle?......think id prefer raynox but is the 7000 better?........im also confused as to 35mm adapter, is the twoniel good?.......and if i get that with a nikon 1.8 is that all i need?....assuming that if i have the 35mm adapter that i dont need the raynox or another w.a. lense, or do i?

since no one has responded to your questions, I'll throw out a couple of opinions for you to consider. I have the Canon wangle and it's quite a chunk of glass. From the footage I have seen while using it, the adapter appears to function quite well with full zoom through capabilities. Regarding the 35mm DOF adapter, I went with the handy35 and consider it extremely well built. One of the great features of the handy35 is the design eliminates a lot of "accessory" concerns regarding rigging your kit. You just can't hang an adapter off the front of your HV40 (filter rings) and then throw an additional lb. of glass on the front of the adapter without thinking about supporting the whole kit. The design of the handy35 takes care of the support out of the bag.

Regarding lenses, using the fastest possible lenses will definitely help limit the light loss compared to using native glass. But the really fast long lenses are also very, very expensive (and for good reason!). If you're looking for that beautiful bokeh, then a 28mm or even 50mm lens probably isn't the best choice. Instead, try using something like a 100-130mm macro and get close. You will really have to nail focus, but the result will speak for itself. Also, the degree of blur is something that you will have to consider based upon the scene you're trying to shoot. For example, if you are shooting two people talking to each other and you pull focus on the speaking subject while blurring the second person into oblivion during the conversation, then that may not make a lot of sense to the viewer - (what happened to the other person?!). That's when you need to select the appropriate lens that will compliment your shot. You just don't throw an adapter on the front end of your HV40 and then wing it.

Regarding the adapter and other wangles, there will probably be times when you won't want to use the 35mm DOF adapter but could benefit from a wangle. For example, you can forget about flying a 130mm lens - no chance at all (unless you're 50 feet away, and then what's the point). This is when you would drop the DOF adapter and resort to the wangle to get the shot.

Just some examples...
