Lens Whacking - Timelapse - Music Video

Really nicely shot. I like the timelapse lense whacking. How did you do the light wacking on the timelapse? I'm assuming you had a motorized dolly? But did you just hold the lens the entire dolly move for the timelapse? Really cool.

Gorgeous footy. That song seems to be one of the few times whacking actually works well. (don't get me wrong, I love lens whacking, but it doesn't always work well depending on the music)

Thank you! Gene, yes i used a motorized cineslider and no i didn't hold the lens during the timelapse shooting. I wish i could. But there was no possibility to monitor. So i rigged the lens on a support...

Chris, that's what i think as well and i feel really happy that you think this video works this way :)

Did you guys light whack on the timelapse stuff? Or was that just shot straight? I originally was wondering how you'd light whack on timelapse, but on second look, it seems like a normal time lapse without light whacking. That why originally I though that you held the lens somehow (which would have been super, super difficult) on the motorized timelapse. My bad.

On second though, if one were to figure out a way to timelapse with light whacking, it would look really unique, if it's not a blurry mess.

Anyways, really good job on the video

The lens whacking didn't turn out well on the timelapse shots. My lens support was a way to close to the mount. So you see the effect very hardly. Handheld probably would be very shaky and blurry, thats true ;)
