No, there are a few versions. One that just has 1/4-20 screw that would attach to the foot of the 35-100 to support it. Then there is the one you mention, but the gear is meant to be removed and put on the specific lens as needed for support. Then there is the zian which allows for off center support. So you do not need additional pieces.
Oh yes an owner of a 35-100 had said the foot may be too long in order to use the zmount lens support easily. So you may want to verify that.
