So I was using various Zacuto baseplates with the Canon 15.5-47 lens, along with a couple different Zacuto lens support systems I have, including the Zacuto Canon quick release lens support which I like since it is quick to change lenses.
Then I just got the Wooden Camera Unified Baseplate for the C300, which so far seems pretty awesome for what I need. However, it doesn't line up with the Zacuto lens support, as it is offset to the left or right. Big pain.
So now I need to either deal with the offset (I'm going to try using a Zacuto Z-ZC ZicroMount (EDIT, this setup actually works pretty well; I can use the rods to release it so I don't have to screw around; semi-quick release)), or, buy a different lens support. So, what would I need? Just get a Wooden Camera lens support which would surely be aligned correctly with Wooden Camera products? Or a lens support that has left to right adjustment (I couldn't find much there)? Or what?
EDIT: Just playing around with it more, I realized that the angle of the baseplate on the Wooden Camera setup is not fixed like it is on the Zacuto, so maybe I just need to adjust the angle to get it right. As long as getting the angle right to work with the lens support doesn't make the whole camera aim off-angle, then it should be fine...but, it may make the camera off-angle, which would put me back to square one. Will test later.
