Lens Out of Alignment? Anyone?

So I noticed this problem a year ago but thought it was user error, but now I noticed it again after some footage I have shot over the past two weeks. As usual, I zoom in on my subject (say, in an interview situation) to the DVX's longest focal length, set my focus, then return to a more suitable framing. When I pull back, however, my DVX looses it's focus ever so slightly. It is enough for me and anyone looking for it to see, but to the casual viewer it might go undetected. This is why I failed to catch it when viewing through the DVX's EVF. (72 hour shoot, no time for a production monitor...) The focus shifts more towards infinity.

This is not user error, the problem is purely mechanical, repeatable, and I run with no automatic settings. Are my lenses focal elements out of alignment? Has anyone else ever had this problem?

Sounds like a back focus issue. An authorized Pana repair facility might be able to correct it with a "software alignment" instead of having to replace the lens assembly.
Hope this helps.

we just had a focus issue where everything on the left side was blurry.

Took it and the repair place just reseated the focus/lens assembly and it fixed it, was only like $300 also.

So you might want to see if they can re-seat everything.
