Lens flaw?

Hey everyone

I was toying with my DVX-100A today and discovered a small black blur on the image. After cleaning my UV filter and lens it didn't go away.

I THINK I may have found what is causing this. Looking into the lens there is an orangish spec.

Zooming in brings the blur closer to the center of the image.

My DVX was purchased back in Winter of '05 and I have taken care of it very well. It still looks and functions like brand new besides this new discovery.

Can anyone help?

You should probably get it serviced. Is it under warranty?

I do not believe the camera is under warranty any longer. No access to a camera at the time; I'll try and get something posted soon.

Does anyone have any other thoughts?

Can you shoot a even white/gray wall (don't over-expose) and post a grab for us to see the issue?

Your not going to like this, but I encountered similar problems and was told it was one of two things. The cable connecting lens to the body is loose or the lens needs to be replaced. You may be getting a warning before too long that will indicate something is wrong, red flashing on the screen. I sent to a place in Illinois and replaced lens for $1600.
If it's just the cable, it may be as little as $400, but I doubt it!
