Hey Guys,
Just a couple of quick questions.
I currently have an old Canon XM1 (I am looking at purchasing a HVX), and something that really bugs me is I get a awful vertical smear down the image as a part of the lens flare when I frame a shot where the sun is visible. Does this happen on all DV Cameras? The HVX?
Also, I am after some opinions of how the 4:2:2 colour space compares to that of 16mm. Obviously a technical comparison would be rather difficult, I am more after peoples opinions of how they see the difference in colour depth and the vibrancy of the image. I recently watched a short clip shot in 16mm and fell in love with the colour, a link here http://www.transgressionmovie.com/video/trailer1.html. Could the HVX compare to that with the right CC done in post? I have read many discussions on here regarding the film look and that the general consensus is that the majority of film look is achieved with the right lighting, framing etc. But I will be shooting mostly outdoors, like the above clip.
When shooting for DVD, I have already decided to shoot in HD and downrez to DVD for the final for a number of reasons. Is this also a better method for better colour reproduction, considering the 4:0:0 colour space of shooting in DV?
Sorry if these questions seem random or have been answered before.
Thanks for you time.
