Lens cap replacement for 150

Just a heads up for anyone that was/is considering the coverlens. I happened to check their site yesterday and noticed the price is back at the intro amount ($35). I'm pretty sure it was double that when this thread was active. Not sure if it will stay there, so I ordered one right away.

Tupperware be gone!

That's a fantastic deal. I think I paid over $50 last August. It's a great product made by a standup company.

You can alwasy pick up a 72mm Nkon lenscap it will work in your lens. I am using one on mine when I have the mattebox on it. I honestly wish there were a better system to protect the lens itself rather than a cover for the lens hood.

Kind of off topic, but since we were talking about losing minor parts from the camera...

I lost one of the plastic/ rubber caps that goes over the xlr input... any way to get a new one of those?

The HMC150's lens cover is the dumbest piece of crap ever. If you shoot run n' gun, and pick up the camera out of the bag and then starts shooting where the hell do you put that big piece of plastic? Why the heck couldn't the have just come up with a cover that covers up the smaller opening inside the hood? instead of the larger opening on the outside?

Picked up a cover lens. Great price for a lens cover AND all that other cool stuff :). Don't have to go searching for a white shirt or table cloth anymore, haha!

I feel you on this one, I think i'm going to make a belt clip for this huge chunk of plastic.

Buy a coverlens :)

Search the 'articles' forum for coverlens and you'll find a good review of a great product. It's basically a replacement lens cap with slots for white balance cards and other goodies. $35.

I read the whole thread. I saw the coverlens. It doesn't appeal to me.

I think I might have to purchase a Coverlens. I get a lens hood as well as a cheaper alternative to seemingly overpriced "Warm Cards."
