My advice is, if you want to do things seriously, do what i do:

Hire a professional human lens cap holder. The best ones can keep their hands from sweating so they don't transmit dangerous liquids onto your lens. There are also professional lens cap holding gloves, used by the best lens cap holders.
Just make sure your lens cap holder assistant follows you wherever you go, otherwise you can secure him to your camera with a wire and velcro strap.

This is what professionals are for. You want to stay focused on your footage, and not be distracting by the evil thoughts of possibly losing the lens cap.

Don't be afraid to invest for that. It's well worth it.

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!

If you can't remember to just stick the thing in your pocket, then nothing short of a string is going to work. Then, when people see you walking around with that string configuration on your camera, it'll probably help reduce the chance of getting any future work, which will also help in not losing the lens cap.

So go with the string. Preferrably bright yellow or neon green. Thick too ... yarn would be nice.

Well, I keep losing my lense cap too, ..it was always embarassing ..but now, after countless hours and dozens of prototypes.. I have come up with a fool proof method.

...all you need to do is cut out the center of your lense cap so you can shoot with it still on the camera! ...it works perfectly and you'll never lose the cap again!

Oh my god, this has to be the funniest thread i've EVER read!

I came back 12hours after reading it the first time, and i'm still totally craked up!
