GH3 Lens advice? (Beginner/Short Films)

Mark Williams gives good SOLID advice here. Just starting out, keep it simple and manageable. I would start out with the lens he recommends in his post above for any close up and telephoto work. For in close and general work either the Lumix 14-45mm (has metal barrel and smooth zoom) or the new Lumix 14-42mm ver. II "kit" lens which gives you a range from workhorse wide angle to short telephoto.

Then if "faster glass" (f1.4, f1.8, or f1.7 maximum apertures) is needed order one of those. The Lumix 20mm f1.7 is available used (I believe there are two right now on the Buy/Sell forum at mu-43.com).

The proof of the value in his advice is found in what he does. Here is one example (look at the gear list used):

I wouldn't recommend any m4/3 LUMIX for narrative work due to the non-linear response of their fly-by-wire focus rings. And if had to use them I'd be looking at the f/2.8 zooms, or the faster primes.
