Lens Adaptor for Auto Nikon Glass on Canon SLRs

Hi guys,

I've been searching for the answer to this simple question for a while and haven't been able to pin it down. When automatic Nikon lenses, those without aperture rings, are used with simple adapters (not the ones with their own aperture rings) on Canon SLRs, does the lens default to wide open?

It's a pretty simple question, thanks for the help!

no, it defaults to closed. You need to add a small piece of something (i use a modified paper clip) on the back of the lens to either hold the lens at wide-open or roughly change the aperture.
