So I've always thought red's outrigger handle was a pretty cool idea, so I wanted something like it for my C100.
Berkey Systems seemed to have all the components I wanted and I already have their baseplate and absolutely love it, but I still had a couple questions so I sketched up a simple drawing and emailed Berkey systems with my idea.
Brian quickly replied back and even shot me a video showing some options and originally I was going to go with the full sized VersaHandle but he suggested the smaller Shorty VersaHandle and I'm so glad he did. The Shorty version is exactly what I was looking for, the full-sized would have been too long for my intended use.
Got to finally put it together today and I couldn't be more happy with it. It's rock solid and very balanced and easy to keep steady, almost gimbal like. Couple this with the Dual Pixel AF and this is going to be a dream to shoot run and gun with.
Not only is it a handle but with all the 1/4-20 and 3/8's holes, I can easily mount accessories on it like a mini half cage.
