LED ring light vs Panel light

So in my never ending quest to find all the equipment that I think I will need, I found this while looking at some LCD panels.

I was wondering if anyone on here has had any success using one of these for video. I thought it would be nice to have this to free up the top shoe for my RodeMic. Let me know what you guys think. Pros/Cons?:undecided

Hmmmm looks cool. I use the Litepanel ringlite but this would be a cool portable solution if it works....

I have the Z96 panel light and I love it for the price.

Depends on what you need to shoot, In the occasion where you might need for someone to look directly at the camera it might blind the talent, while a shoe mounted light can be easier for them to work with.

I also have the Z96 and love it.
