Least inexpensive wide prime lens

you can get the lumix 14mm f/2.5 for 160 bucks, it's pretty sharp, and of course has autofocus for those times in which you need it. Not to mention, it's literally tiny.

Please forgive my ignorance - just wondering how much of a difference there is (besides 2.5 vs. 3.5) when comparing the 14mm prime with the 14-42 kit lens?

It's a bit more than a stop faster. Definitely helpful in low light, and you can get a tad more depth of field. It's a also a prime, vs a zoom, so less moving parts, less glass in your optical path

Ditto. Everyplace I see this lens it's between $300 and $400 American dollars. Where are you getting the $160 price?

Jim,

I did a quick Ebay search and found some for their quoted pricepoints in the buy-it-now arena...

Anyone on here know a good and trusted seller on Ebay?

I hate the image characteristics of the 20mm 1.7, unnaturally sharp from the get-go, if the 14mm is any similar, meh.

I have the Olympus 14-54 2.8~3.5 (requires 43 to M43 adapter, Panasonic makes a cheap one), this lens takes the cake regarding 3D-ness and crystal clear smooth quality. I just shot a corporate video with lots of steadicam mostly with it and the Tamron 17-50.

I got mine on eBay from Podmantech

$160.99 + $8.00 shipping from New Jersey.

"Note: As this lens originally comes from a GF2 kit set, it does not come with separate retail box. This lens is brand new and unused."
