Well, I see a red movie / live view button like the 550d but not a switch like the 7D.
It will be interesting to see what Canon mean by "video optimised". I hope it's not just autofocus as CR speculated. I can happily leave AF in video. Moderately useful for still, but not even vital for that.

iut doesnt seem to have much buttons... is that touch screen?

Unless there are buttons under the LCD.
However, we are assuming that this is a real operating camera. Yes I do see text on the LCD, but it could still be a wooden mock-up to try ergonomics.

18MP not enough for you?
That's nice for stills....but let me be more specific...I want the video to be able to resolve much more detail than it has traditionally done while utlizing the new 4:2:2 codec they are touting. :) So...I hope that is what they are referring to when they say "Video Optimized."

This will only be worthwhile if they fix their aliasing and moire issues. If it's just another 5D/7D/T2i video mode then that will be a huge waste.

Maybe that's what I'm trying to say...yeah...that's it. No color moire and aliasing.
I think what you're trying to say is you want more detail and cleaner picture with less artifacts. Resolution (1920x1080) is likely to stay the same.

Not quite what I meant in terms of resolution…(what you are referring to is the size of the picture). As the article svecher pointed out suggests, I’m talking lines of resolution (resolvable detail). I was kidding with Isaac…but yeah…what he said should also be a priority.

I'm staying positive about this one until proven otherwise.

When the 7d came out I loved it's specs.
When the t2i came out I loved it, especially it's price point.

No reason so far to suspect that the new canon DSLR will be a dud

Gotcha. You want more resolvable OPTICAL resolution, not the pixel size of the clip. Too many terms ;)

I have a bad feeling the 60D will be another T2i. Not that the T2i is bad, just that they won't introduce anything new video wise.

When is this coming out? Will I be kicking myself for buying a T2i last week?

Will the price point be more comparable to 7D or T2i?

I don't know if the rotating LCD is really a good thing. If it can't support or mount a z-finder properly, you're still not going to be able to see it outdoors. It doesn't matter on the GH1 because it has a EVF as well. Hopefully it will be strong enough, and have enough room around the screen, to support a loupe of some kind.

It's lost a row of buttons compared the the 50d, probably to accomodate the new screen. I'm sure still shooters will not be too happy about that - this is exactly what they've been complaining about when saying video functions will compromise stills.

Of course this is all assuming it's even an actual prototype of the 60d!
