lead lens and circuit boards

Screw the environment. I like lead. Have a version of the camera made in some third world country where you can still have lead in the camera. Lead is great for lenses. Circuit boards without lead get tin whiskers. I could buy this camera on the grey market and pay less for not having a USA warranty. I know RED management will cringe at this idea. I can hear toes curling.

Seriously, if the Department of Defense or part of the Military Industrial Complex decides to use this RED camera in a spy satellite, they would like some lead in the tin. Tin whiskers are a serious problem and have caused the failure of satelites in the past. Little pieces of tin start to grow and short out the chip. Or you could just use gold on synthetic diamond sheets, instead of tin on silicon.

Lens hood with built in shade that can be opened and closed quickly. Often it takes valuable seconds to remove a lenscap. If it is snowing, you want to have something faster than a lenscap. Note the Sony HVR-Z1U has what I want. But it freezes shut in cold weather. RED should make a similar hood but have teflon or some material that will not freeze on the parts that freeze.
