:( LCD viewfinder went kaput, out !

So I was in the middle of a shoot and my LCD viewfinder ...the one outside just went kaput.

Some horizontal white flashes/lines appeared and went completely black.
I shut the hmc 150 down . restarted and the LCD viewfinder turned on but went I rotated it slighty, it went out again.

Now it doesn't show anything. When I turn on the menu, you can see some life ...like from black to less black..but it basicaly just out ..dark.

Is there something I could do without sending it for a warranty service in America.
I need your help asap ....im in the middle of a few projects .
Thanks guys and gals.

Upload a pic asap .

I just turned mine on to discover that the magnified "EXPANDED" focus assist works in the viewfinder -- and if I was in your situation -- that's what I'd be doing.

Other than that -- I'm sorry I can't be helpful. It really does sound like a repair thing.

Has this happened to anyone else? Any pattern here?

sounds like it could be a bad ribbon connecter or whatever kind of cabling is used to connect from body to LCD. maybe a cheap LCD monitor can get you through your productions until you can send off for repair or just use the actual veiwfinder.

Funny you should say cheap somethings cost twice as much here as the do in the US .
There was a small shop here who had one or two lilliput monitors.... Now to find a powersource for outdoors( jungle) shooting.

Thanks Matt & AG !
