does anybody know of a repair center with a great rep and reasonable prices?
if not, does anybody know approximately how much this will set me back?

It's very unlikely to be a cost effective repair. I was quoted £600 here in the UK, and that was just because the connecting ribbon cable got slashed. An external 7" monitor is the way I roll now.
