LCD Screen - problems? Smear/Smudge

Forgot to report on this when I got back. As many of you know I was shooting in Kauai (only for two weeks unfortunately) and when it's 80degrees / 90% humidity and you hike 12 miles with your camera you get sweaty.

So some sweat drips on the LCD. I go to wipe it off and it smears horribly across the LCD causing an oily looking rainbow effect. OK, grab the lens cloth to wipe, and it doesn't get any better.

LCD looks horrible now after two weeks sweat, fingers, sand, salt, rain, dirt, ect...

I was surprised at how sensitive it is/was. I really wished I had invested in some of those nice stick on covers that I use on my SmartPhone.

Any solutions to this problem? A specific way to clean it? I've never used any LCD cleaning kits that come with some sort of magic cleaning solution. Do they work? Any input or advice is appreciated.

No... I'm talking about the LCD screen. LOL... sorry.

In all seriousness here, a plain ol' lens cloth doesn't do anything to help the situation. I even tried a new brand slightly different style. When I was ON the trail it was even worse. This is better than right before I posted. On the trail it was just smearing around, which made me worry and decide to just leave it and deal with it later. Fortunately, it didn't really cause me that much grief... there were times though when the increased glare from it would cause the need for a shade.

Longwinded I know... sorry. Here is a pic...

Sure wish I had more pics of on location spots that I lugged an A1. I guess the footage will speak for itself if I ever finish editing. I forgot I even took any photos while I was there, and found these tonight when I took the pic of the LCD.

My appologies. Brain fart, I guess...

I assume you've tried cleaning solution? I had similar issues on my DVX when filming on the ski hill, and it all went away with a good spritz n' wipe.

NO... I have not tried any cleaning solution. I've NEVER used the stuff. I've never had to either. Always just lens cloth seemed to do the trick.

Spritz n wipe huh? Any particular brand... will generic stuff work? Like can I go to Staples and buy some LCD spritz or what?

Try wetting your cloth, that should help... if that doesn't work, any old screen/lens cleaning solution should work.
