AC130: LCD Monitor colour with Scene Files

Hi Guys

I have noticed that with the default setting on the 130's LCD of Colour=0, your overall image using the default scene file (F1) looks absolutely perfect on the LCD BUT the video itself is way down on Chroma!!! If you dial in a pretty much ordinary scene file like SPARK (F3) the LCD looks totally over saturated but again the end result video is near perfect!!!

Unless you have adjusted your camera LCD's colour down a bit, your useful scene files are going to look like they have gone way too much overboard and you end up not using them.

I'm running my LCD colour at "-3" now and it's better!! Anyone else discovered this problem?????

You are absolutely right that the Spark(F3) scene setting looks fabulous. I would recommend that many folks give it a try, and see if with some minor tweaking of it they can't get a look that they love.

As for the camera's LCD, I don't think that any LCD that size is going to be automatically perfect in its rendition of a scene. People are going to have to get to know their AC130/160 with experience, in order to know what to expect. I do have my LCD color set to "-2" myself.

Thanks Lance

It's good to know that it wasn't just both my cameras that had oversaturated screens. I'll give mine a whirl at the -3 level and might just have to drop it back to -2 as you have yours. Thanks for the input!!!
