Lazerbeak - DVX Short

Hey, guys. Excellent work here. You guys did a really good job. When you said you'd made this film 2 years ago, I was expecting something really less than professional, but you had some really good cinematography here. The dolly shots were great - subtle, but yet well suited to what was happening. The shots of the main character driving and walking past all the landscapes was engaging and there was some really funny stuff thrown in. The bar, for instance. While he's on the floor and the rest of the bar is just watching with no reaction had me laughing out loud and the neighbors were also hilarious!

You had a really cool opening and I like how the story came full circle in a sense. Everything about this film seemed real and what made it even more real was that the main character was really a "common" man just living life. He was no hero or anti-hero, just an everyday Joe Blo. Even the touch of spider web on the toy at the end made it really appear that the toy had been there for years. A really nicely done film.

On another note, the audio was good, but could be better if the actor's voices stood out a little more (maybe a little louder than what's in the background).

Anyway, looking forward to seeing other stuff from you guys. Definately keep at it.

Great Work. Is the story about growing up? (Into an adult and leaving childish things)

yeah i guess it kinda is that. Maybe its about how part of growing up is understanding your childhood. I don't know, that sounds pretentious.

The original idea was to do a story in which bad things happen to somebody. One after the other. And no matter who these things happened to they would be really bad. Then as a redemption one good thing happens. If the good thing happened to anybody else in the world it wouldn't mean anything but for this character it means a lot. Actually that sounds pretentious too.
