I know exactly how they feel, when i go to my pilates classes there are all sorts of assumptions made about me, just because of my hello miss kitty leotard and arts and crafts fascination.
Good to know Charli, although I should have picked up on that from your spelling of your name.
I am just glad to see some girl power on here, we have needed it. The production community constantly loses a lot of valuable skill, passion and energy by intentionally and unintentionally excluding women.
I used to be the VP of the LAFCPUG (Los Angeles Final Cut Pro User Group) and we always faced the same problem, bunch of sweaty geek guys tended to intimidate the few women we could ever get to come to the group. It's not the 1960s, production is not just for guys.
In case you haven't picked up on it, my producing partner and primary line producer I hire are both women and in general, I really like working with women as much, if not more than with guys in production. Have ran into a lot of flakey male crew lately (people bailing out on shoots the night before production begins type of stuff). Every woman I have had for crew OTOH, has been 110%.
Dan
Amen Dan!
Women are better than men in most aspects of the production business, there is this strange phenomenon that women have that men don't, it's an extra sensory organ, for us it's like trying to explain the 4th dimension, to them it's just normal. They can see things we can't and in a better way, a way that actually makes sense. Chemistry with actors is an example, don't ever use a male casting agent. Same goes for story telling, producing, line producing, directing, they just have this attention for detail that gets missed by most men.
Equalling out would be nice...
BWahahahahaha! :grin:Wait.... so did that just totally work?
I guess I'll give it a go while luck seems to be shockingly plentiful. I'm looking for a hot chick, preferably interested in photography, and if she's a millionaire, that's a plus. Go go magic forum!
