Can't drop .jpg's on my timeline

I just grabbed some big posters and made some nice .jpg versions in Photoshop to later use as backrounds and logos... but now I can't drop them on my timeline... what's even more weird is that it does let me drop photoshop project files .psd's...

I can save the Jpegs as PSD's to solve my problem, but isn't Vegas supposed to be able to take a JPG and isn't it supposed not to be able to take PSD's?

Yeah it's suppose to. How are you saving the JPG files, make sure you check that, instead of droping it why don't you try to open the file in Vegas.

Strange, I use JPG's all the time in Vegas. I've also used PSD's, but if the file size gets too large I have noticed performance issues. Did you generate the JPG's in photoshop? JPG can have different compression settings. Maybe the way the files are encoded is making Vegas unhappy? Have you tried adjsuting the encoder, or try opening and saving it in a different program?

I simply saved them in Vegas... as JPG... with the compression bar cranked up... then the Format Option I left alone so it was on Baseline ("Standard")

I am quite sure I never had this problem before... but I also think I was never able to use .psd's before ???

same here on the size... Vegas has a horrible tile handing bit files which really limits my vision for this project... :(

Have you checked what colour format you are using....
As far as i can think vegas wont open CMYK, make sure that the .PSD and .JPEG are saved as RGB files, also it might be a 16bit issue, the file must be saved as 8 bit.
