Hey guys,

I don't post on here often but thought I should contribute since its these forums that got me started with the GH1.

Its been said that weddings are the hardest thing to shoot and I tend to agree. Of course I'd like it if I had more control/time to setup shots, use lighting (we almost exclusively with available light), etc but for what it is it not too bad.

Check it out and if you have any questions let me know!

Love the transition from B&W to color on that flower. I may steal that. I'm shooting my first wedding with the GH1 in a few weeks, any hints or tips?

Actually yeah,

  1. Make sure you always use some sort of stabilizer. I personally prefer the bushhawk and to a less extent a manfrotto monopod for the 'handheld' stuff.
  2. Never go above iso 640, ever.
  3. If you are going out to web there is no need to shot FHD, unless you are trying to get a little extra light in with a lower shutter
  4. Tried to stay in SH mode at 125 shutter as much as possible, we mostly shot f1.4 lenses full open with 0.3,0.6,0.9 and PL set for each of our cameras.
  5. The 7-14Panny is awesome on a steadicam
  6. Use the size of the GH1 to your advantage. Doing the candid stuff I take off all the mics and other gear so that you barely notice I'm even there.
  7. Smooth or Nostalgic film modes have given me the best results depending on situation.
  8. Hold on the subject, before and after a rack focus much longer than you think is needed. You almost always start moving the camera to although angle faster than you remember doing it.

ND Filters, cuts light by 1,2,& 3 stops
PL is polarizer (we actually use circular ones), cuts glare and when used with a ND can be used as a variable ND

Nice use of pulling focus with your transitions. It would be great to see a picture of your rig, if you could get one.
