Oh good, quotes!

"
Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." - Nelson Mandela

"Let us think of education as the means of developing our greatest abilities, because in each of us there is a private hope and dream which, fulfilled, can be translated into benefit for everyone and greater strength for our nation." - John F. Kennedy

"

Sad Max - Surely we can agree that we should each do more to change our world instead of waiting for others to do it for us.

Sorry, didn't mean to call you Shirley.

And just to add some balance--

"...now I am become Death [Shiva], the destroyer of worlds..."

Physicist Robert Oppenheimer

Science, pure science, and damned be he who first cries 'hold, too much!'

Well, I'll be damned. :)

IMHO, science gives better tools, nothing else. It gives humans know-how, but doesn't give us know-why.

Tools... Bones. Bows. ICBMs.

Science doesn't make people better, it only makes them more lethal.

This proton rollercoaster thingy might solve some problems, but it will probably create a new set of problems, the same as every other tool.

Nothing changes, only the illusions of people [females included :)].

And for the record, I'm not against science or the LHC, they're just tools.

"Hold on, I don't know what this thing actually does!"

Just my 2 (colliding) neurons.

True... there is free will which we can only learn how to accept and embrace to be happy with it's company. And on the other side of the ring, I mean brain, we can learn more about the world so we can accept it and embrace it... let's go hump some trees. LOL!!!

How and why are sort of the same question... "Can I learn, some, more please?"
