David Fincher, Peter Jackson, David Stump, Otto Nemenz and Warner Bros. @RED?

Well Lucas definitely has an interest then. He's pretty much the highest level in terms of power in the industry. Besides, why wouldn't one of cinema's greatest innovators not be apart of what is possibly the greatest revolution in digital cinema if not cinema as a whole?
Because he didn't think of it first. ;)

Im pretty stoked on Jackson being mentioned; imagine if he teams up with New Line again for The Hobbit...and this time being in 4k...man that would be awesome.
Well, ideally, it would look just like if it was shot on film...right?

Jackson isn't going with New Line for The Hobbit because of financial differences with New Line. Last I heard MGM got the rights to The Hobbit with Jackson

Interesting...Either way I'm sure he'll still be able to make a great film.

Point of interest, as of now MGM has only announced that Hobbit is on their slate for 2008. In interviews, Jackson has stated repeatedly that he would probably be interested in Hobbit, but he has not yet been approached.

With Halo falling thru, he might just well be. Although he's working on DAMBUSTERS and the LOVELY BONES in the interim.

Despite being insanley jealous of Jackson for being a massive kiwi filmmaker, I would be glad if he got his hands on a red for one of his productions because he is so passionatly dilligent in his behind the scenes coverage of stuff that I am sure he'd dedicate a massive component to the fact he was using this swanky new Red to shoot his next epic.

Good luck to him.

PS: I heard that Quentin Tarrintino was interested in directing the Hobbit. He'd decided to change the title to 'Kill Bilbo vol 1'
