I own a HVX200 and i shoot with a firestore. Next year, i will be doing alot of work out of town (L.A., Florida etc.). At the end of the day, i would like to sit back at the Hotel room once the shoot is completed, hook my firestore into a portable laptop computer and drag the footage into an external hard drive that i could later edit back in New York City on my desktop computer.
I have never owned a Laptop computer, and don't want to spend alot of money (over $700) on one, particularly this is the only use that this laptop computer will ever get. I.e. a system for me to drag footage to an extermal hard drive. I would never edit on this computer etc. I like having my eSata footage stored on eSata drives, but i understand that most laptops are USB ports only.
Can anyone recommend an affordable, durable and reasonable recommendation for a PC laptop computer?
