With the ease of digital interfaces these days, Red (or a third party) should provide a software package that can run on a laptop to control all functions and grab pictures off the Red. It would be amazing to have a wide-open interface into the workings of the camera.
Add waveform monitors and you would be golden.
Add speed ramp control with spline drawing capability.
