Laptop as Monitor for HVX200

Is there any way to use a laptop as a monitor when shooting with the hvx200. Kinda like how you can plug into a tv and see your picture. I want to my laptop as a monitor for my cam, but wasn't sure if i cou;d even do it? If not, whats the best solution.

OL have delay about 1 sc between camcorder and laptop also I tray to use HVX200 with our laptop look OL CS3 not support HVX200 ,it have a lot of problem when work with it.
 
I like using OnLocation and it works fine with my HVX200, although I can't get it to work with a long cable. It's supposed to work with the 4.5m cable but I can't get HD longer than the 10ft cable.

Hmmm that's strange I have a 14 footer and it works just fine. I'm running dv rack with a macbook pro (bootcamp) 2 gig ram etc....that might have something to do with it. I don't think it's the cable, it may be some other hardware in the chain. what comp are you running it on?
 
I'm on a PC, WindowsXP, and I'm pretty sure it's the cable. I didn't spring for the expensive one. That's the only device I run on firewire, so there aren't a lot of other options.
What brand is your long cable?

I think it's a belkin....I could only find a 4 to 4 pin 14 footer locally so I had to buy a 4 to 6 pin adapter as well....Not recomended but it has done the job. You can find them online though, I just didn't want to wait.
