Laptop as a Monitor.

Can I use my laptop (a Macbook pro) as a monitor? If so, how do I do it?

I've tried various connections, and looked through the Manual, and I have Barrie Green's book, but I can't find the answer. If it can be done at all.

Thank you in anticipation.

Barrie.

I don't believe a Macbook Pro's display can accept any input... if it can, it's news to me. I just use an HDMI in on a 23" 1080p ASUS monitor from newegg.com that cost me $120. It's not as portable (needs 120v power), but it's AWESOME on location with my HMC40!

I don't think this can be done.

But, maybe you could get it to work via USB with Adobe's OnLocation.

I've tried to use my Acer laptop for this but it didn't work, because the laptop only gives singals through the hdmi port.

Ended up with buying a cheap 7" monitor that does the job fairly!

No Mac has built in support for USB3.

The HMC150 also has no firewire support so that eliminates programs such as HD Monitor, Scopebox and and onLocation.

I don't believe this is possible.

You can get express card and PCI adapters for USB3 on the Mac, complete with drivers
