Konova Shoulder Mount Rig

Does anyone have any experience with this Konova setup? For the price, it seems too good to be true, which makes me suspicious - but I know their sliders are excellent.

Anyway, just looking for a good introductory rig for my GH2 and wanted to gather some opinions. Thanks!

Yeah it's not actually a Konova product. It's sold by a Chinese manufacturer, you can find a lot of resellers of this rig.
I have the follow focus and shoulder mount, very good value.

I've had my eye on this rig for a while. The thing that bothers me is how front heavy the setup would be configured like that. I also wish the shoulder rest was a little longer so you could hang a weight off of it.

I'm in the market for a light run/gun rig without going a full rail system. I've been thinking of getting the Opteka CXS-1 as for most DSLR work my hand will be on the focus and the shoulder rest has a slot that you can hang a weight off of the back to help balance.

I'm still on the fence between the two.

I think these are the best value atm for what you get and the quality build

Do you have one? Is there a way to mount the rider the other way so that the camera body is a little further back? It just looks really awkward to have the body ahead of the hands on that rig.

If I did go with either the unkown chinese rig or the Opteka I think I would want to mount a plate so I can slide it back a little. I love how small these rigs can break down for traveling etc.

I am just getting into the DSLR game, so keep that in mind... I live in NYC, so I checked out that same rig at Adorama (sold as Flashpoint). I have to say it was very solid and well constructed, but it most likely needs a counterbalance on the back for longer shoots. Definitely front heavy. Someone here suggested attaching a velcro wrist or ankle weight to the shoulder pad. BTW go to amazon and you can pick this up pretty cheap. As ed_ says it's probably Chinese, but usually sold as Flashpoint.
