Know about Knowing?

Well, this goes back to my early youth. I was all retired from a career in scooter theft, when some tough 13-year olds kidnapped my 8-year old brother and threatened to make him watch Christopher Walken dancing videos unless I stole 50 scooters in the next 72 hours. I don't want to give away the entire plot ...

 You didn't used to write material for Woody Allen, did you, DLD?

Tom hiddleston’s rendition of the Diner Scene from ‘Heat’ was pretty good, in particular his Pacino. Shows, even imitating Pacino from a couch is a better performance than the lesser known actors doong the same scene.

True, that.

Not to torpedo a hilarious “dirty old man” joke but isnt he still with soon yi and hasnt he been since the early 90s? I dont think he was quite that old back then.

I think he was ~56 in 1992, and soon Yi was then ~20.

But it's none of my business.

Have y'all never had a long conversation with someone in real life? It starts on one subject. Something mentioned stokes another subject. And so on.

If this was a Q&A site, and the question remained unanswered, then I could understand talk about the thread off topic. But I think the subject of Nicolas Cage has been treated at length. More could be said, but it's nice to take a break every once in a while.

It's what makes conversation fun. I didn't know we were working on a Wikipedia article about the merits of Nicolas Cage in Knowing.

'At a boy.

Wait. No, not a random teleportation. A tangent is still a line, a line that touches the circle at a point. There should be some connection between one post and the next, even if it is as tenuous as one of DLD's jokes :cheesy:

Also, we should use more smilies. They're positively nostalgic at this point, this forum is so old. :kali:

Well said, couldn't agree more, Combat.

I am going to borrow Putin's bot farm to give this post one million trillion downvotes.

Keanu Reeves: I feel like when he grew a beard, he grew a personality as well. His performances in John Wick and Destination Wedding (very underrated film where two veteran actors hold your attention in long, unbroken two-shots...rare) really made me look at him differently.

It would be great to see Nicolas Cage try a different style of acting, but I have enjoyed his presence in numerous films like Raising Arizona, Face/Off, Con Air, and more recently The Trust, a B-movie co-starring Elijah Wood. He does seem to be doing a thing a lot where he repeats one line many, many times like he's doing a voice-over take, but it was funny in The Trust. Here's a video where he explains where he got the inspiration for that style he does, mostly a lot of different old black and white movies. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_WDLsLnOSM
