Knight and Day

about 50% on Rotten Tomatoes. I will probably skip this one. For some reason Big Action movies don't do it for me anymore. I would rather see "Cyrus" Which I just might do on Friday.

I was just about to say, and both films remind me of Mr. and Mrs. Smith...which kind of reminded me of True Lies. Feels pretty unoriginal. The only thing of note is that it was directed by James Mangold, who did Walk The Line, Identity, Cop Land. He's not without talent so who knows, the film may be good. I like that they're playing off the crazier, more manic side of Tom's star persona.
I agree with all of this. I bet it does decent at the box office also.

My wife thinks it looks like fun so we're going to see it. I'll let you know how it is.

Again, I'm just expecting a summer blockbuster with some cool action sequences. :)
Does Tom do most of his own stunts? From some of the trailers and BTS I've seen he does some crazy ****!

Let us know MAH. I'm kind of scared of dropping money on this one. And Tom usually does his own stunts. At he used to.

I'm sick of californians pretending to be New Englanders and saying "the 95, the 93, the i-90"

its I'm driving on 93, no THE :D

I wanted so badly for this movie to be great. Ebert dug it, so I'll still give it a shot. But, my expectations are low. As long as Cameron Diaz gives me that 1 million watt smile a few times, I'll probably be happy. And, Tom Cruise does look pretty funny in this...

It seems as though this film went through a somewhat labyrinthian development process, not unlike the one that Nottingham/Robin Hood went through.

Here's an interesting article on the development (hell) that Knight and Day went through -- http://www.telegram.com/article/20100622/NEWS/6220373

Wow, can't believe it's going to do $19m this weekend (3 day weekend, not 5). Sounds like everyone from that cult saw it 4 times.

Development hell Is MI4 that 'should' be canceled before Monday morning, the millions wasted so far.

Saw it tonight. Enjoyed the heck out of it. One or two fairly minor plot flaws, but otherwise well written, well acted, with great production values. (In real life, nobody would ever be allowed on an airplane carrying used auto carburetors.)

Not a huge fan of Cruise or Diaz, but enjoyed them both in this.

Cruise said that many times, it's why he took the project.

Funny how the world reacts to his name vs. SNL guys names today.

I have heard it's a great script/movie I guess now :)

Just came from it. It was okay. The plot holes just frustrated me... especially near the end... Plus the action scenes were just a bit too much for me. Movies like the bourne series just make me want something more plausible in action films these days...

Could have been a lot more...

Yeah, I saw it during a matinee yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. I know that it was silly and had plot holes ALL over it but for some reason that didn't bother me as much as it normally would. The erratic driving and impossible death defying feats were just dressing for an otherwise charming little flick. Sarsgaard made a great villian. I think this is where his career is headed because it suits him perfectly. Unless he has been playing villains and I wasn't paying attention...

I think when you see the movie and who you see it with matters. As a matinee, I loved it. But, if I saw this opening night with my gf who hates most movies, it probably would have rubbed off and I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much.

Well, disclaimer here, I like Cruise and Diaz. I think he still has great charisma and well, she is just adorable on screen. She lights it up every time for me. Well, maybe not every time. "The Box" was terrible.

PS Could someone please explain to me how she got her car to Spain? I think I missed it...:undecided

I thought it was funny and entertaining. Cruise had a good time making fun of himself (you know...like the crazy manic self he showed on Oprah...lol).

Your right though...how did she get here car to Spain?

Sarsgaard always makes a good villian in a sort of John Malchavich(sp) way.

I still liked Mr and Mrs Smith better (hoping for some kind of sequel).

Going by the previews, I actually thought Cruise was supposed to be a nut or be acting like a nutty agent of sorts. But, that wasn't the case at all. To me, he was just a very confident agent who took a light-hearted approach to the foibles of his job. He seemed very normal. I mean, he seemed a bit oblivious to the hazards around him but I took that to mean he was very comfortable in that environment rather than nutty or out of touch. So, the commercials were misleading but he was very good nonetheless.

***SPOILERS***

I don't think they were in Spain at the very end. The hospital he was in could have been any where and she could have transported him to any where while he was blacked-out. Also, her plans were to drive to the tip of South America. So I think they were maybe in Central America.

There was a sign in the last shot but I couldn't read what it said. If it said "Spain" then forget everything I just said. :)
