C100: Kinotehnik LCD VF BM fits C100

I just got my LCDVF BM from Kinotehnik and it fits! It's designed for the BMPC, so it's a little close side to side, but not cutting anything off it seems. When you close the LCD, the stick-on frame does sit in the way a bit preventing the LCD from closing completely flush, but it's not that much so I wouldn't consider it a big deal at all. Viewfinder itself is nice and sharp so no need to even think of using the C100's built in viewfinder ever again.
The one thing I still want to tweak is the angle that the LCD sits at. Sitting flat, you have to hold the camera a little high to use the LCDVF so I taped a piece of cardboard as a wedge and it works fine, but I have to make a little cleaner wedge to get the angle right and not give the impression that my camera is broken and taped together. I might even use velcro so I can pop it on and off when not using the LCDVF.
I haven't used the Z-finder for C100 so I don't know how this compares convenience-wise to their Z-band method of keeping the angle.
I think B&H is out of stock, but Kinotehnik's free shipping took 3 days from Estonia to Seattle and it's still only $159.

How do you find attaching the adhesive metal frames? Does it stick well on the frame of the C100's LCD?

Thanks for the report. Could you please share a couple of photos? One with it attached and another showing how far you can close the lcd with the frame attached.

I have had one of these loupes for my Canon 550d for about 3 years and the same metal frame has been in place from new - through winter and summer weather it has never moved or fallen off. I've never had to use the spare frame. The adhesive must be very strong.

This is a nice find btw. Thanks for sharing. :)

My experience has been similar using one on the 5D. Multiple projects in the Arctic, across Africa, the Middle-East and never a problem. Once dropped it down 150 stairs (in it's case) and found it good as new at the bottom.

Love the simplicity of the magnetic system but I'm worried that the LCD not closing completely may put stress on the hinge that supports it when it is in my backpack for transport.

Huh, apparantly LCDVF states that the BM works for the C100 on their website too! with a little **please note that LCDVF metal frame will not allow to completely close the LCD screen notation

Interesting considering that when I emailed them a few months ago they stated that they were not planning to make one compatible with the C100...

looking forward to pics!

Sorry for the late response, been up in Canada without internet the past few days. I'll try to snap a few photos tonight and post them up.

Sorry, I totally forgot to upload this before. As you can see, the screen doesn't shut tight, but it's not sticking out much either. (excuse the crappy iPhone shot!)

Thanks for the information! Does the LCD shut enough closed to activate the Canon's switch to make the Canon built in EVF know it's shut, for example when the LCD is shut the Canon EVF will be able to Magnify, not shut it doesn't. Thanks again!

Yes. Just checked for you. Of course, now that I have a loupe, I never use the built in viewfinder. Actually, I never used it before either.
