The above version is newer. The link to the older 'wonky' version is here.
I am related to one of parents of a kid in this video. Their school does an annual re-enactment of the revolutionary war in full costume. I think I came up with an anti-war edit - not my intent - it just kinda went that way.
The color definitely needs work - I tried so many versions, and suffered so many crashes that I just gave it a quick copy and paste job so I could get something online. I had many crashes while using the LutBuddy stuff, so ultimately I just turned all that off and did straight 3-way color correction. I think LutBuddy is okay - I believe the problem was corrupt render files, and deleting those seemed to work. My general impression is that lut buddy is somewhat unstable with my configuration, and leads to long painful render times for little perceivable benefit. Maybe Pro is better. YMMV.
Shot with 60D, Canon 70-200 F4 L IS at 24P and 60P at 720 and 480 crop. With the cinestyle, I tried to keep the exposure to about 1.5 to 4 full stops below 'proper' exposure. in some cases, getting the color back proves difficult. I need more practice with cinestyle. In many cases it shines, and in others it ends in wonkiness. I would like a 4:2:2 input now, please.
My main problems in the field was lack of preparedness and no LCD hood, which caused some focus and exposure issues. My homemade lcd-finder is too heavy with its heavy (glass) century optics 7X diopter. What's the best armature to attach my finder to 15mm rails to take the weight off? Or is a cheap plastic magnifyer really just okay?
Thanks in advance for watching and for advice.
