Kidnappings

Re: Kidnappings

IAL

I was aware of this being a republic! :)

I'm still pissed off!

France was against our use of force for purely financial reasons. IRAQ owes France over 4.5 Billion dollars and France has a stake in their largest bank system. Russia was against our use of force for many reasons in that one, they are just pissed we are the super power and they have gone to **** and two they are vying with France as the one and two trading partners with IRAQ. Anyone remember the OIL FOR FOOD program?

Incidentaly, France is the nation that found the loophole in the "no fly" clause even after voting for it.

Is it about the OIL? You better ****ing believe thats part of it. Someone mentioned above "using our own resources". Why? We have reserves. Thats why they call them reserves. We can afford it and we will use other people resourses; makes senes to me.

But its also about giving the people of IRAQ a free country from a dictator who has a civil rights record of a NAZI. THe news is always showing the negative side and never the side of the mass majority who support the US led coalition.

And Travis, dont start with the "given weapons to osama and saddam" crap. At the time it was the right call with that ass monkey running IRAN. We are currently helping the Afghans with money and military support for the exact reasons. In 20 years, we might be fighting them for different reasons. Was it a better place with the Taliban in charge?

Damn right we have WMD. It was the US who stopped World War 2 in in its tracks with the use of WMD. It comes down to who should have them and not "well that country has them, why cant I?" mentality. Some countries have responsilbilty while others are completely crazy. Would you prefer Saddam still be in power and still pursuing WMD? What the **** do you think he would do if he had those kinds of capabilities?

THe inspections were doing ****. Saddam consistently denied access and led the inspectors in circles. The US is the power right now. Would you prefer if the US just packed up and said **** ALL YALL? Would it be best served if the US just didnt help anyone?

Tell that to half of the planet and the people we have helped. The world would freakin meltdown if the US didnt get involved.

Re: Kidnappings

Testify!

BTW, many do not realize this but it was France who drug our butts into Vietnam. Once we were on the ground and committed, they ran home!

Re: Kidnappings

hmmm... learn something new every day... hmmmmm..... interesting. What's the story behind that?

Re: Kidnappings

To be fair, the French stepped out before we "officially" got involved. But yes, the US basically supported the entire french operation (80% of the French colonialization war costs.) America had same/similar interests as the French in Business and not just to prevent the spread of communism. The French were getting thier ass kicked during the French-IndoChina war and backed out. The French asked for our help but we initially didnt want to until France declared Indochina independent

When they backed out, the Commies started moving in and, well, then you know the rest of the story.

I love war history! My other hobby!

Re: Kidnappings

Iam loser
I know it´s a republic. I use to watch the West Wing
But doesn´t change anything. All the democracies all over the world are republics or al least they are just representive democracies. But your president use to read the opinion of the people (and normaly decided having the opinion of the people in mind. or should it be this way..)

John Hudson

Sorry for going with the weapons that Us give to saddam and Osama but we can´t ignore the fact. US produced a lot of weapons and sells a lot. These terrorist need them to kill people. So I my humble/modest/ and whatever opinion US is guilty of spread hate all over the world. Of course the other countries does that too. Every great (i am talkin about power -geography, economic, military) country did it and probably will do forever if no one try to stop it.

Power was always an excuse to axfixied others.

So your republic should lead the fight against the guns. But the guns in every place, in every hand. In every brain.
Do a "Bowling for the universe" instead of a Rambo V

If you do that i will think there´s people who has been help by US.

Incorrect.  The United States is the ONLY nation in the history of the world which had the power to conquer the rest of it, knew it, and CHOSE NOT TO.  And, by the way, will continue to choose not to.

Re: Kidnappings

I am not ignoring the fact that we sold guns to all of those dumbass countries that can't do anything on their own; but lets not forget the russian made AK's and other weapons. Not every weapon in the hand of a terrorist is american made one and the examples you are giving are from the 70's when Khomeini was in power. They can have those weapons. What, you think we're handing out M1-Abrams and Stealth Fighters?

Our country is not leading a fight 'against guns' it is a fight against radical islamic militants. Jihad is a holy war whereas publicy states "death to america and americans". IRAQ, and the rest of the middle east for that matter is one big cluster ****. Those couniries don't know if they are coming or going. What would you prefer? A country that breeds suffering with starvation, no economy, militias vying for power and religious wars or a country that accepts all kinds peacefully?

You're coming across as very naive.

Re: Kidnappings

And another thing

Forget about all of the details of what and when and lets get back to the meat. Can you honesty say to me that Saddam should have stayed in power? All of the **** he did in his reign to his own people? Can you honestly say "The US should not have ousted that dude?"

Who else was going to do it? No one. That's who. I support my government but maybe U.S.should just pull up stakes and let the world do their own thing. One country after another just killing each other off in the name of Allah. In fact, maybe we should use our resources so the billions of dollars given to those countries stays HERE. Perhaps we should not give humanitariun aid and supplies to the countries who need it. Perhaps we should not sell weapons to other countries and watch them dissapear. Maybe we should build a big ****ing wall around us and never let another person into the country (I mean, that whole Land of Liberty thing is kind of dated isn't it?). Maybe we should have not particpated in the ousting Mislovic either and let the genocide thing run its course. But don't worry. NExt time your country has problems you can always call the French and they'll send you a hundred or so guys.

LOL LOL LOL

IF the problem is not having enough people sitting around cafes smoking, that is.

Re: Kidnappings

Did I just read from a Frenchman about democracies and republics??

i think this is the larges tissue today in politics. Why??
Well America is a republic. This is a representative form of govt. where in people elect representitives from their district and state to represent them and their local interests within the federal legislature. (REPRESENTITIVE REPUBLIC) A Democracy is socialism and socialism is the springboard to communism. A democracy is two wolves and 1 sheep deciding on whats for dinner or a lynch mob with 1 descending voter.

Problem is that our leaders and TV personalities get obn the electronic propoganda machine and beat into your head everynight about our democracy.

Now studying about politics as politicians do.. At our higher education centers (socialist propoganda brainwashing camps). They should know the difference before they say our "Democracy". i contend they do and their intentions are devious. I would say your average movie star that goes onto the latenight show and talks about our great democracy are just ignorant.. They are either one or the other.. Ignorant or Covertly taking part in the overthrow of our soveriegnty and our standard of living/way of life..

Ok Im done with my rant ;)

DUDE Hudson you're a genius!!! ;)

I think it would be flat out hilarious to sit back in our glorious country, and watch the rest of the world going "oh crap.... we DID need them... um.. whatta we do now???". Keep all the money here... ship off all the cases of Evian... and the borders? Seal 'em. Prop some .50 cal's up on the wall every 100 feet or so. Now THAT'S what I call homeland security!!! ;D

The French would be griping faster than you can say "pansy"

Re: Kidnappings

Man, this talk of Barret .50 cal's brings a tear to my eye. I'm off to play DC . . . ;D

Re: Kidnappings

The Frenchman, gentlemen, has just talked about the American Government and never let himself go onto generalising his thoughts over the American people. He thinks it would have been stupid from him. Apparently, some of you don't take such precautions.

The Frenchman, gentleman, is making a great effort to speak your language as hard as he can because he respects your culture very much.

The Frenchman, gentlemen, would like you to be just as respectful of the other cultures than you want the other cultures to be respectful of yours.

The Frenchman, gentlemen, would like you to watch your words : some of them are not making any good publicity for your cause, nor your country. He doesn't think they convinced anyone, except the ones already convinced.

The frenchman, gentlemen, comes to be half jewish and half christian and has many peaceful muslims as friends. He is not very happy to read someone "****s" them because of their religion.

The Frenchman, gentlemen, finds you more tolerant and brilliant when you talk about cinema than when you howl with the wolves. This thread started like a debate, it's lately taken the shape of a we're-so-perfect-they're-so-stupid thing.

The frenchman, gentlemen, doesn't disregard your attitude as Americans, but as human beings. He respects the fact you don't share his views. He would just like you (well, some of you to be fair) to be less disdainful.

The Frenchman, gentlemen, would be happy to welcome you in his country and show you another reality (no better, no worse, just different) as soon as your wall is finished.

Re: Kidnappings

You're right.

NOTE: Do not take any of my posts for a literal response that is cut and dried/black and white.  It can be (as is showing) very dangerous in a forum due to generalizations.  Some of my posts are somewhat harsh and if anyone needs clarifying on any point I'll be happy to discuss it and distinguish between the Generalizations, the Smack and the Facts.

It go's bothways and I am aware of this.
