Kid Fight

Take a look at this short fight sequence entirely choreographed by these two kids ages 9 and 11. With no prior swordfighting experience, only inspiration from seeing Ryan vs. Dorkman the day before, these two choreographed the fight you see in an hour and a half with no help or instruction from me or anybody else. Every swing, hit, even the poses, are all theirs.

This post is not related to the discussion of films. Unless I'm mistaken and this fight is in the imdb, you should post "stuff" like this in the cafe.

Jesus you guys are harsh. Are many of you capable of reading?

The kids CHOREOGRAPHED the fight scene, and did it in an hour and a half. And yeah, that's pretty damned impressive.

Doesn't say they filmed it, doesnt say they did anything in post.

Learn to read folks, and lighten the hell up.

No wonder so many people are dropping out of here with responses like these.

? Speaking of needing to chillax . . .

I read it. I just didn't particularly believe it. It's not like there aren't lots of outlandish claims on YouTube.

My comments weren't directed at Ramsaur, anyway.

Well, he only also provided this link:

http://ryanw.michaelfrisk.com/ryan-w/sabers.html

Which is directly to the guy site who roto'd the sabers. I have talked online with Ryan W on a number of occsions because of his after effects work, and he is legit.

And besides, that misses the point. People just pounce with negativity here a lot more than they used to.

Yeah, but that link came up after I posted what I did. Like I said, I'm a YouTube skeptic.

In any case, I watched it again, and I still don't really believe two kids with no prior experience and no help at all came up with all that in an hour and a half. At the very least, there's some exaggeration going on.

Speaking of chillaxing, why are pg rated jokes that are just meant to add a little humor to tension filled threads erased and the aggressive posts left behind? This is a serious question, if it defies forum policy to ask it, please forgive.

"Chillax" .... lol
(officially added to my vocabulary)

OK David and Rap meet at dawn we'll toss a coin and see who gets to choose the green light saber or the red one.

EDIT: and Glimmer that's a half hour with the sparring droid for you :)

Naahhh, I'm chill as a pill. Rapier is a way-cool dude and PhotoShop master. But my opinion of the video is what it is . . .

I can buy it; at about those ages my dearly departed childhood buddy and I were staging bar room brawls using discarded refigerator boxes as the bar (or any thing else that we wanted to collapse/throw ourselves on), and getting shot and falling out of my tree house, a la off the top of the saloon. But there were very involved 5 or 10 minute scenes that were planned out. It might not have looked that good - who knows now (but we thought it did at the time).

I know ... I was just entertaining myself with that image ... because anyone outside a Lucas film (especially adults) fighting with light sabers is funny to me. (and sometimes within a Lucas film as well).

I always enjoy watching something that someone spent a few hours perfecting, that will never get them anywhere in life. Makes me feel good about my own wasted time.

As did we all. What I'm saying, I guess, is if they DID choreograph and perform that entire thing with NO prior experience, after only having watched the Ryan vs. Dorkman thing, with no help whatsoever, in an hour and a half, and it's good enough for me to think they couldn't have (which is why I think the claims are exaggerated) -- which is saying something, right?

Is it plausible maybe, and i'm just saying this in the spirit of fun conversation, that by being friends, neighbors or family members of the director the kids are overexposed to this stuff , and that by having watched the other dorks do it so many times throught the weeks months and years they didnt need help at all?

Edit: and I still mean with no prior experience, just bench watching is all i'm saying
