Kid Fight

Not really. Saturation is nothing new. Are kids who have done nothing but watch tennis good enough to really play after an hour and half? Could they perform a ballet recital? Watching something and doing it are very very different things.

I agree with you david, for the most part. Yet this forum in itself is a testament to the contrary in certain respects.
I had no idea what I was doing in febuary, Watching clip after clip on this site has given me great control over angles, trying to match settings from just looking at the clip, figuring out stuff that by myself i thought it looked great. Then i would look at a clip here and realize mine was a $20 pop flick. But thats just my opinion, I respect the point your making.

is it really that hard to swing an elongated peice of plastic around in the air? to hit another elongated peice of plastic?

you guys are making a big deal out of a 9 and an 11 year old swinging PLASTIC!!!

When I saw that itle it totally reminded me of an episode of Arrested Development, too bad it got cancelled.:(

Is it really that hard to kick a pig hide filled with air between a couple of upright metal tubes?

Is it really that hard to put a ball into a hoop that's bigger than it is and right and front of you?

Is it really that hard make a small hard piece of rubber slide across ice into a net?

Is it really that hard to spin on your toes?

Go try!

Fencing isn't a sport?

But it's not being a sport that's the issue; it's being able to do it without ever having done it before.

Like I said, go try. Make it look good.

OH wait!!! I love this game, ok ok.... ummm, Is it really that hard toooo, ummm, move your hands and feet in water and stay afloat?
Surprisingly enough some women who are giving birth do so in a pool to help the child cope with the sudden difference from the womb to the real world, some of these babies have never touched water yet they can swim.
I'm just doing this for the argumentitive factor, it's no longer about the kids (like most things adults end up doing that starts out about the children and end up being about our own mental superiority over the other guy).

For an hour and half and two kids - not bad. In general not a well choreographed scene though (not trying to be negative here just stating my opinion). I can believe it was done by a few kids that watched Ryan's video. All the flashy stuff was right out of his video.

do you doubt the FORCE? obviously these padawans have it and some of you dont. it is not something that one randomly obtains - they might in fact be more the chosen ones than Luke. come on,
everybody chill!
s@it might not be the most amazing bruce lee stuff, but it COOL to see two kids 9 and 11 putting some light sabers to good use. at least theyre not selling crack or watching clerks 2.
:kali:

seriously though, i had a bike gang 5 minutes after watching Goonies, knew how to do the Crane kick 5 minutes after watching the Karate Kid, knew how to drink a martini 5 minutes after watching 007, and in 5 minutes sure as hell knew how to finish off Darth Vader better than the unfortunate Obe Wan could - give me an hour and a half and i could have re-enacted the whole fight sequence plus add an alternate ending. a little passion and fun go along way.

Yeah, an hour & and a half isn't much, but it's enough. just think, put these kids in front of a television with an xbox and a copy of Halo and these same kids of ages 9 & 11 are kickin some serious butt. Switch them over to a ps2 and they'll be looking at their controllers for all but ten minutes before the hand eye cordination kicks in and they're friggin pulling off socom missions with expert precision... ****, when I was 11 I was calling up Stan Lee (this is seriously true and i got into alot of trouble for it) pitching him ideas for some new comics that he was totally into until he figured out I was just a kid.
My point is: Why is it so easy to believe that you can do anything as a kid, and so hard to give kids credit as an adult?

I believe the kids did it, and it looks pretty good. I was choreographing martial arts fight sequences at that age, without having taken martial arts, just watched a lot of karate movies.

Personnally i thought the fight between the two kids showed much more emotion and depth of skills as compared to Ryans' fight sequence. They should be expecting a call anytime soon...
