Kevin Smith Documentary Screening

LrdMora- I don't put much stock into what K.S. says he'll do next, as his record is rather spotty. After Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, he said they would never be seen again. Yet, they were in Clerks 2, which was also never supposed to be made. He was supposed to do The Green Hornet, and backed out. He was also supposed to be working on a SciFi flick called Ranger Danger, but I haven't heard anything on that lately either. Of course, the one flick I would love to see is Bluntman and Chronic- which he says was done in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, and he'll never do it either.

Yeah I know, but take it for what it's worth, he may never do it, he may have put it out as a joke. . . whatever. But he said it and I thought it was worth passing on. He made a lot of jokes at his expense regarding some of this stuff, making fun of how he always goes back to Jay and Silent Bob.

As far as Green Hornet he did talk about that and it sounded like a reasonable explaination, he talked about Bluntman and Chronic also, but didn't sound like that would ever happen. He did explain about why he did Clerks II, and spent quite a bit of time laughing about Jersey Girl, which, indirectly is why he did Clerks II (if I understand him correctly) He likes to write about stuff that he really knows. . . apparently Jay and Silent Bob.

At least he has a sense of humor about it.:)

Anyway, take it for what it's worth. . . second hand information from a guy on your forum who you have never met. . . wait. . . what?!

I'm just really dissapointed with his reasoning on G.H. He didn't feel he could do an Action flick. Until he sold off all is stuff and did Clerks, he couldn't make any kind of movie. With the way he brought Green Arrow back from the dead, and the few action scenes in Mallrats, Jay and Silent Bob... I think he could have pulled it off just fine. No worse than those huge budget/big name directed bombs DareDevil and The Hulk... or the 3rd, 4th, and 5th Batman flicks.

Yep. That was basically it. He feels like his strong point is dialouge and that action sequences are intensely boring to shoot. He also was not happy that it was big budget and felt too many people would have a say in what he was doing.

The other thing he brought up was that he could make 15-20 million dollar movies all day long, they always make money so he doesn't have to stress as much about them. At heart he's just a low budget filmmaker. . . like all of us!

He talked a little about the 6 million dollar man script and how he wasn't good at writing the action sequences, and how if he had done GH he wouldn't have even shoot the action stuff, just done it off screen (he was goofing on himself there) and of course, that wasn't going to happen.

This stuff was all on the DVD and very interesting to listen to.

If nothing else, his new Q&A will go into my K.S. library. So far, I have everything except Clerks 2. I even have Vulgar, which really isn't even his movie. I just can't watch it when the wife is around... I think she may have some form of clown phobia ;)

If that is the only one you can't play when your wife is around, you are doing good buddy!

I will have to put it on my laptop with the headphones on. . . late at night. . . when she's out of town. . . , damn when I put it that way it sounds like a illict fling with Kevin Smith, I need help!

According to K.S. on his first Q&A, that might be a good way to make $5... Some of you know what I'm referring too ;)
