Kensington Reader

seriously, who cares. If you need to use a Macbook Pro and have a problem with it, buy another brand/model reader for offloading, or just as easy, buy a USB SD card reader...

Anyone know where I can pick up the Kensington? Or selling one or two? Otherwise I think I'm going to order from that Aussie site!

I know they are hard to find. However, on Amazon, I have read about a problem when using the card with the Macbook Pro.

Has anyone else experienced this problem.

The problem is when the machine goes to sleep. There are a couple of other soluitons out there now. There is the older version of the Delkin Express Card that has the "eFilm" logotype on it or there is the newly available card from e-films that will allow the door on the EX1 to shut (Delkin does this as well but not the Kensington).

Most have given up on getting the Kesington's over the past 3 weeks because of scarcity. I have a couple of Kensingtons, just got a few Delkins and plan to get a half dozen more e-films ones.

The idea is to have an SDHC card in each express card adapter so the camera has zero issues with IDing cards. Also you don't want to be fumbling with SD cards in the middle of a shoot. Trust me. You want to be good to go.

Guy,

Seriously, I care. Could have had a little nicer tone.

Happy Holidays

I meant who cares about the macbook compatibility problem, not who cares about you or anything. It wasn't a go at you, basically yes, there is a reported problem with sleep modes and macbooks (so I read) but it really is a non issue as there are just so many easy work arounds. My kensington readers never go in my laptop and I don't have any problems with compatibiliy. I use my laptops SD reader and external USB2 SD card readers.

Buy a generic mac compatible SD Express Card reader, leave it in your mac and swap the SD cards into it.
