keeping eyecup on smallHD EVF?

Has anyone figured out a way to keep the eyecup on the smallHD EVF? Nice unit with one stupid, annoying and endlessly irritating issue.
For that matter how about a way to easily flip a cover over the eypiece in between uses.

Thanks

You have to slide the eyecup down the neck of the loupe until it fits into the slight recess on the neck. If you try to leave it at the first notch at the top of the neck, the eyecup will fall off. I hope that makes sense.

SmallHD is releasing a new eyecup solution in the next week. This should fix the slipping issue and the - more pertinent - sunburn issue.

I wonder if they will charge curent EVF owners "arm 'n leg" for a basically "recall design" of original part?

A strip of black cloth gaffer tape. 3/4" wide is, I believe what I used.

Filmtools and grip / assistant camera outfits sell the stuff.

I carry several kinds of gaffer tape and similarly velcro with me in one of my assistant camera oriented pelicans. Essential stuff for things just like this.

My rubber eye piece does not come off, but a new improved version with some kind of protection for sun light (with smart design) would be great and welcomed for a "normal price". Otherwise, I will stick with my DIY solution...

$34 for a full bag of goodies!
I can live with that! Timur, great write up. HD came thru again, and a free shipping to top it all...

It is Holiday season, for sure!

This is great news, I was thrilled to get the email today. I have managed a small burn on my DP4 which happened on an overcast day! I was freaked out to say the least, as I am well aware of the problem from using 2/3" broadcast cameras which had a quite bad issue with screen burn. Can't wait.

I did not get an email, so thank you to those of you who mentioned it and provided the link.

I found when I ordered it, the shopping cart did not want to give the free ground shipping if you set the country to anything other than the US. Fortunately, I can use a letter carrier in the US but if you are going to order it from Canada or elsewhere and expect the free shipping, you will have to call, unless they fix the problem in their e-commerce app.
