GH3 Kaua'i Hawaii

Yeah I was thinking about the Lumix 20mm f1.7 pancake too but for a bit more the Lumix/Panny/Leica (or whatever you wanna call it) 25mm f1.4 had an edge insofar that it was better for portraits, just as sharp or sharper than the 20mm pancake and was faster and enough better in low light to be worth mentioning and because it was also a Lumix, it had auto focus said by some to be faster than the AF on the 20mm pancake. Plus it's about half the price of a Voigtlander and reportedly gives you similar performance and look of the Voigt 25. Just trying to get maximum stellar performance out of my GH3 and spend wisely.

Dan,

Looks great (as usual).

I'm always a bit surprised to see your only using a polarizer when filming in full Sun. What aperture are you typically working at?

Best,
B

Actually, using a polarizer in full overcast tends to flatten the scene, even though it will up saturation. In full sun at high noon it's killa!

Many thanks Bern. It's always good to hear from you.

I shoot primarily aperture priority, f9 or 10 in full sun.

Dan,

This is a wonderful video! Like others, it makes me want to pack up and head for Hawaii. The color is absolutely stunning...

Was the catamaran trip one of the dinner cruises I've heard about?

Thank you for watching and the kind comments Cathy. The catamaran trip was a sunset dinner cruise. Great fun and food.

I hope Kauai comes true for you...

very nice! haven't been there in 10 years & boy did that make me want to cancel Disney World & go there instead!
